About

Since an early age I have been interested in how things worked.    When I was around 8 years old I built a kitset crystal radio – a friend of my fathers saw my potential and brought me a copy of an electronics magazine which I read several times cover to cover and wanted to build more projects.

This lead to an interest in short wave listening and starting to learn about Amateur Radio.    Finally in 1983 I become licensed as ZL2TPH and then in 1987 upgraded to my full callsign of ZL2BKC.

These days I am interested in homebrew construction and operating on the microwave bands.   I prefer to pick up the soldering iron more than the microphone.

I hope you enjoy my website and the projects that I have built.
